I understand the wallpaper firm Osborne & Little developed their former headquarters into flats and made £6m.
Actually it was an offshore company called Nightingale Mews that bought the property that made the profit so didn't pay any tax.
Believe Gideon owns 15% of the family firm

Osborne was a bit too cagey earlier.

Re: The shit well and truly about to hit the fan
I personally don't have any issue with the way anyone deals with tax planning, as long as it's lawful. I'm sure any contractor on here, who pays themselves "dividends" or the sole trader who claims expenses on things that may not directly have been used for business purposes will agree. Tax planning requires a great deal of admin, usually more than us mere mortals can deal with, so it's outsourced to accountants and lawyers who for a fee make this process easier and act on our behalf within the laws of the land.
We don't have any input into who else our accountants and lawyers work with.
What if your accountant or lawyer was hacked and had an unsavoury client list? Are you guilty as well?
In this day and age of journalism which seems to focus on searching for clickbait headlines and then accusing people of something without any facts is dangerous and irresponsible.
If anyone has done anything unlawful, then they should be dealt with appropriately.

The City of London is the biggest and oldest "Tax haven" of them all, and we as a nation benefit from this (along with it's network of offshore places)
Lets all bite our noses off to spite our face.

I think you are overlooking the issue of scale here.

Re: The shit well and truly about to hit the fan
Its easy to diminish your tax payments perfectly legally. The main issue, as with most things in life, is the more well off go and find out how to do it. It is, however, open to all.

In order for you to demand that comma, you should first present to WHO a full and complete revealing of YOUR tax affairs.

Re: The shit well and truly about to hit the fan
I cannot see what the fuss is about. Surely the 1% need to keep their personal financial affairs discreet. As for UEFA and FIFA officials doing the same alongside African dictators a bandit Russian leaders it is simply unfortunate coincidence.

As for our PM he has confessed that there are no off shore trusts or funds set up that he or his family wil benefit from in the future.

All we need from Cameron is a full and complete revealing of his tax affairs.

Just another example of the greed in modern culture, sickening but most will be able to sweep it under the carpet I bet, as the top end of town gets richer and richer, we are almost going full circle back to a rich elite running things from all the gain made by the labour movement for a fairer society after the 2 world wars.

Thanks Thatcher and Reagan as these 2 cunts got the ball rolling more than any other.

Is it true that Vlad is bending one up Wendy Deng at the moment?
Murdoch ... Blair ... Putin ....... reckon Donald Trump might get lucky next.

I'm not sure Russians will be exercised by tax dodging. Probably most are more annoyed that some people ran off with all their assets and laundered it overseas in London property and West London football clubs.

I hope Vlad doesn't get caught up in this, I like him. I'm going to vote for him when the next EU presidential elections come round.

Doubt much will happen. Most countries don't give a shit about corruption.

Re: The shit well and truly about to hit the fan
mashed. A big thing for quite a few years has been the property version of what Chim is describing below. You don't own your property, a company registered in a tax haven does. They then, out of the kindness of their heart, let you live in it for nothing or for a peppercorn rent.

The more recent one now running alongside that, is huge amounts of foreign money being washed/safeguarded by turning it into property in London.
